For those of you who find there squat numbers lagging, you may find this routine very useful in spurring new strength and refining your form and execution. Be forewarned though, this program is VOLUME INTENSIVE! This means you have to be qualified before trying this out.
The prerequisites:
- Applicable to intermediate and expert lifters (i.e. technique is already dialed in and strength levels are at least of a class B lifter)
- When running the program the deadlift will take a backseat. This means never going beyond maintenance work. do not go beyond 85% in terms of intensity and keep the volume at the lower end of the range.
- It would really help if you are on a caloric surplus while running this routine. You will need it to recover properly and set proper conditions to accommodate the demands of the program.
- As for the bench press, proceed with your scheduled plan. If your bench press day shall coincide with the squat day.
- Squat training days should be spaced out by at least 48 hours.
